Speaker Bios:
Daniel Ahn is the Vice President of Planning and Design within the Real Estate + Facilities Administration department with Catholic Health. Prior to joining Catholic Health, Daniel was a Principal at BAM Creative, an architectural design firm based in New York and Los Angeles, working on projects ranging from Healthcare, Life Sciences, Entertainment + Media, and Workplace.
Terron Browne is a Project Manager in Memorial Sloan Kettering's Design + Construction group where his primary responsibility is the delivery of capital construction projects. He has over a decade of healthcare industry experience at MSK across a variety of functional areas and roles. After graduating from St. John's University, Terron joined MSK's Ambulatory Care group and managed operations for a variety of outpatient clinics and clinical services before transitioning into a project management role in the Digital Products & Informatics group where he led the design and implementation of various novel enterprise-wide clinical applications. In his time in Design + Construction, he's been responsible for projects ranging from from small-scale site feasibility studies, reconstruction and renovation projects, and campus expansion projects. Terron is an explorer at-heart who enjoys running, reading, and exploring New York City culture in his free time.
Jennifer Calin is a Senior Project Manager at NYU Langone with nearly 20 years of experience in the Healthcare sector. She graduated with a degree in architecture in 2000, from San Buenaventura University in Cali, Colombia. After moving to New York City in 2004, Jennifer discovered her passion for healthcare design while working on her first Senior Living Facility project for a small design practice. Since then, she has been employed at medium and large-scale architecture firms, such as Perkins Eastman. More recently, Jennifer has transitioned to the owner side, and in the last ten years has worked for some of the most prestigious healthcare organizations in NYC: Mount Sinai, Memorial Sloan Kettering, and currently, NYU Langone. She has had different roles throughout her career: Project Architect, Healthcare Planner, and Project Manager. Jennifer is an International Associate AIA and a Chair of the Sponsorship Committee for the AMFP NYC Chapter. As a parent of two young children, she believes in work-life balance: when she is not working, she’s enjoying the outdoors with her family, running, or dancing.
Jonathan B. Cogswell, Vice President, Manhattan Development for Northwell Health’s Western Region, has been working in healthcare facility operations & development for more than 25 years. After starting his career in the development of Cancer Centers in the Metro New York area, he transitioned into managing hospitals 15 years ago when he moved to Lenox Hill Hospital. Currently, he works for Northwell Health managing the development of facilities in the system's Western Region, which includes Lenox Hill Hospital, Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital, Lenox Health Greenwich Village (New York States first free-standing Emergency Department) and an out-patient network of more than 80 sites. Jonathan is also a Vice President on the Board of Directors for the NY Chapter of the Association of Medical Facility Professionals.
Anthony Donatich, facilities executive, leader, and licensed architect experienced in multiple areas of capital project management with emphasis on strategic planning, real estate, design and construction. Highly adept at organizing, managing, motivating groups of staff, consultants, venders and end-users to achieve company and institution objectives. Proven ability to manage highly technical and sophisticated projects for healthcare, research, higher education, and leading corporate businesses. Effective a leveraging outstanding leadership, negotiating, and consensus building skills.
Felipe Garcia joined the Mount Sinai family in 2011 as a security officer while patiently waiting to join the NYPD. During this time, he graduated from The City College of NY in Psychology and educated himself in HVAC and facilities operations. He was given the opportunity to work as the HVAC Supervisor for Mount Sinai, where he established a respectable knowledge of healthcare operations & maintenance, mechanical design, and energy management. Since then, he obtained different licenses and certifications, including his Executive MBA in Healthcare Administration and, most recently, being Board approved as a Fellow for the American College of Healthcare Executives.
As Director of Energy Management, Felipe has implemented many energy conservation measures and standard operating procedures that have contributed to a cumulative annual cost savings of over $4 million across the Mount Sinai Health System. Along with his dynamic team, he is extensively involved in managing energy consultants, energy audits, and compliance with local, State, and Federal mandates while also following the changes within the energy market, the effects of new emerging technologies, and changes from regulatory agencies. Felipe is a member of six different associations, all of whom have helped and continue to provide extensive networking collaboration to excel in this fast-changing healthcare industry.
Tina Macica is the Associate Vice President of Design and Construction for Montefiore Einstein. With over 28 years of experience in design and construction, real estate, and master planning, Tina has had the unique experience of working directly for owners and as a consulting owner representative. Throughout her career she has managed a variety of construction projects, ranging from healthcare, research and university facilities to administrative offices. She has taught project management and owner representative certificate courses at NYU and recently conducted an NYSED external review of the MS Construction Management Program. Tina holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architectural Technology from New York Institute of Technology and a Master of Architecture Degree from the University of Buffalo. She is a certified Project Management Professional, LEED AP and Six Sigma Green Belt for Process Improvements, USC.
Jacobie Ricard is the Senior Director of Construction within the Mount Sinai Health System in New York City. His team delivers critical care facilities and campus infrastructure improvement projects. Jacobie has over 20 years of architecture and construction management experience with a focus on public projects not limited to but including community centers, public housing, schools, and most recently new inpatient beds to battle the Covid-19 crisis. As a graduate of the University of Florida, Jacobie studied architecture with an interest in business geography. His educational background established a love for quality aesthetics with the ability to deliver sound construction. Mr. Ricard believes active listening and collaboration are critical components to successful project management and team building. This approach to problem-solving combined has resulted in his successful transition across various municipal agencies and public institutions. Jacobie is also a real estate professional with an extensive background in multi-family real estate investing. His ventures in real estate were modeled by Dr. Grant Thrall’s “Business Geography,” allowing him to navigate the 2009 downturn successfully, and he is looking forward to new investment opportunities in the coming years.
Frank D. Rudilosso is the Director Facilities Regulatory Readiness at NewYork-Presbyterian, responsible for facilities regulatory compliance, medical gas/water management programs, planning/scheduling, dispatching and facilities operational excellence enterprise-wide. Frank’s experience at NYP includes Field Director Facilities Operations consisting of oversight of day to day facilities operations, Manager of Life Safety and Manager of Fire Safety. Frank started his career as a Fire Protection/Life Safety Consultant for a global fire protection engineering firm and has a strong foundation in codes and standards. Frank earned a Bachelor’s of Science and a Master of Engineering degree in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland. Frank is a licensed Professional Engineer and a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional. Frank is an active member on National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) technical committees, American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) Regulatory Affairs committee, ASHE Rapid Response task force, ASHE Member Tools Task Force and current Chair of the ASHE Membership Committee. Frank serves on the board of the Association for Medical Facility Professionals AMFP NYC Chapter as Treasurer, is the Co-Chair of the Golf Committee and serves on the board of the Hospital Engineering Society of Greater New York (HESGNY) as Treasurer.
Daquan Sisco is a Project Manager with Design + Construction at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He joined Memorial Sloan Kettering in March of 2021 as a Process Engineer in the Operational Excellence department and starting in January of 2022, has transitioned into his Facilities Management role. Before joining MSK, Daquan spent 8 years in the Supply Chain & Manufacturing industry with companies including Estee Lauder and PLD where he spearheaded various capital projects. His career's broad scope of responsibility has allowed him to build strong foundations in strategic thinking and project implementation. Mr. Sisco holds a B.A in Industrial Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. His educational background helped foster a passion for continuous improvement and problem-solving.
Sara Suzuki is currently a Graduate student at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health in the department of Sociomedical Sciences pursuing her Master’s in Public Health while concurrently enrolled in rigorous Construction Administration courses. Sara has participated in selective summer internships with the Department of Native Hawaiian Health and the Hawai’i Pacific Health System. She teaches a Personal Leadership course at Columbia and is the Director of the Young Professionals Committee for the New York chapters Association of Medical Facilities Professionals. She gained experience in construction as a project management intern with CORE Construction in Nevada and is currently an intern with Batska Consulting Group. Sara has had many speaking opportunities throughout her young professional career, most notable is her presentation at the American Public Health Association Student Assembly Panel and an intriguing presentation on indigenous water rights at the New York City Clean Water Summit. She has years of experience mentoring young professionals and her long-term goal is to become a leader in the healthcare built environment that inspires young individuals to embrace challenges, especially the scary ones like networking and building relationships.
