This conversation will include healthcare decision makers and members from the A/E community to engage in a discussion about the factors that healthcare systems consider in looking at geographical expansion as well as the physical considerations of converting existing real estate into healthcare uses.

Speaker Bios:

Mary Frazier, AIA, LEED AP, Green Belt, is a principal in EwingCole’s New York office where she focuses on healthcare planning and design, and ensures all projects meet her high standards for design excellence. Ms. Frazier has worked on many notable and award-winning recognized projects for clients including, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Northwell Health, New-York Presbyterian, and Mount Sinai Medical Center. She embraces a hands-on approach on all projects and feels most rewarded completing projects that exceed both her client’s expectations and her professional goals. Ms. Frazier has a degree in Architecture from Drexel University and Business from Pennsylvania State University. She often speaks at conferences on the impacts of the design environment on patient and staff experiences, as well as efficiency and outcome.

Timothy E. Krawetz, PE, LEED AP, as a healthcare practice area leader and senior principal in Syska Hennessy Group’s New York office, leads a multi-discipline, multi-office team of over 100 professionals throughout the firm both nationally and internationally. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the planning, design and peer review of hospital and laboratory projects. Mr. Krawetz is passionate about bringing the best engineering solutions to clients so that they can deliver the highest-quality patient care and improve patient outcomes. A graduate of Manhattan College, he holds a BS in mechanical engineering. Mr. Krawetz recently served on the NYC Local Law 97 Hospital Working Group focused on the decarbonization of hospitals within the city.

Courtney Riley is a Land Development Director for VHB in their Northeast Region. Courtney has served as a principal on multiple site development and civil design ground up and real estate repositioning projects throughout Long Island for healthcare clients such as Northwell Health, NYULH, HSS, and Catholic Health Services. She has designed, permitted, and overseen construction of more than 10 million square feet of health care facilities in the past 15 years. In addition to her work experience, Ms. Riley is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Innovating Commerce Serving Communities, the Society of Women Engineers, and is also a United States Naval Officer Veteran. She attended Villanova University and received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Naval Science.

Robert Stiers has 25 years’ experience in institutional healthcare development, real estate and project planning.  He leads White Plains Hospital in master planning and their strategic development initiatives across a portfolio of holdings across the campus and Westchester County.  In this role, Mr. Stiers is tasked with balancing near, mid- and long-range planning solutions against the changes in healthcare delivery, social and demographic trends. His focus has been in finding data driven solutions to planning problems and maximizing opportunities for capacity and performance across his organization.
