Hospital design is a long complex process that traditionally required diverse team members to align operational, environmental, experiential, clinical, and organizational needs and objectives. The challenge for all parties in the facility is the complex nature of healthcare itself: the required accountability of enhancing patient experience, improving population health, reducing costs, improving staff work life, and being efficient with the client's time so they remain focused on their job of caring for patients. This interactive presentation will focus on the innovations driven by escalating constructions costs, required isolation of team members during a pandemic, and the need to design and deliver a replacement hospital within a finite schedule based upon staff availability, revenue projections, and the need to capture new market share.
