The launch of AMFP Houston may have been postponed by the pandemic, but the delay only added more excitement to the kickoff event, July 14, 2021. As the RSVPs rolled in, planners Rod Armstrong, AMFP board member in charge of chapter development, and Bob Del’Ve, new AMFP Houston president, quickly changed venues to accommodate the crowd.
“We had more than 85 registrants—and nearly 70 people showed up despite heavy rain,” says Armstrong. The reception drew a mix of professionals and vendors—and the enthusiasm during and after the event points to a dynamic future for AMFP’s newest chapter. “We’re up to more than two dozen members.” Del’Ve notes. “And we’ve been bombarded with emails and LinkedIn requests from folks saying they’re eager to join, help, and sponsor and host events. It’s really gratifying.”
The Houston chapter is the most recent launch for AMFP, which now has chapters in seven cities and regions:
- Central Florida
- Chicago
- Houston
- New York City
- North Texas
- Northern California
- Upper Midwest
Current growth plans call for 30 AMFP chapters by 2025. Locations with movement underway to form chapters include:
- Atlanta
- Charlotte
- Cleveland
- Columbus, Ohio
- Detroit
- Indianapolis
- Louisville
- Philadelphia
- St. Louis
In Houston, Del’Ve looks forward to shepherding a chapter that helps healthcare real estate professionals learn, grow and strengthen their industry and community. “We’re one of the most dynamic healthcare markets in the nation,” he says, “and our members have so much to share and gain from one another.”
