After record construction for medical offices in 2019, a slowdown was already projected for 2020 before the coronavirus pandemic hit. While projects scheduled for March and April largely moved forward, openings were often delayed. Of 108 projects scheduled to open in March and April, 40 were moved back at least 30 days.
Moving forward, Revista predicts further delays and even cancellations for new project starts and openings due to labor shortages, supply chain issues, budget cuts and other side effects of the COVID crisis.
