About this event
Design for pediatric oncology environments is evolving along with treatment. Spaces are becoming more enriching, inclusive of family, and focused on occupant well-being. During this course, attendees will understand recent statistical data on this patient population that correlates to the build environment. Advancements in care will be reviewed, focusing on how new treatments and better access are changing patient experiences. We will also discuss the family centered care model, its importance in pediatric oncology, and what the built environment can do to support it. Lastly, we will review key design trends, both established and newly emerging, that are capable of transforming pediatric oncology environments for the better.
This course will provide 1 AIA continuing education credit. Attendees should park at the Maymont Hampton Street Parking Lot located at 1700 Hampton St., Richmond, VA 23220. Follow the signs form the parking lot to the Garden Hall for the event.
