About this event

AMFP Raleigh/Durham Designing for Impact: Elevate Healthcare Spaces Using Experience Design

Healthcare environments have the power to either ease or intensify the experiences of patients, caregivers, and staff. This program explores the transformative potential of Experience Design to shape healthcare spaces to be both functional and emotionally supportive. We'll define key principles of Experience Design and show how strategy-driven approaches can improve user experience and operational efficiency. Real-world case studies will highlight how thoughtful design creates more intuitive, welcoming, and restorative healthcare spaces.

Presenters:

Paul Fox | Principal | Director of Interiors and Healthcare
Studio 310

As Director of Interiors, Paul comfortably navigates broad conversations around design with the participant at the forefront.  His catalog of work comprises more than two million square feet of interior space that crosses corporate office, higher education, retail, hospitality, senior and healthcare markets.

Paul’s focus on healthcare design grew out of what he considered was missing from our healthcare environments, it was about how to feel connected and in control of your own wellbeing.

Over the past thirty years, Paul has designed interior environments with a focus on experience and interaction; for him it’s all about patients feeling at ease, providers feeling valued while considering the necessity for efficiency and process. He promotes equal parts of well being:  50% clinician/50% patient.  His spaces are well crafted, detailed, responsive, functional, refined and spirited. Paul’s areas of experience center on master planning, programming, space planning, visioning and problem solving.

He undertakes each design opportunity with regard for refined details and tailored functionality to create elevated spaces focused on the user experience.
