About this event

Program description:

Navigating the Certificate of Need (CON) process can be daunting, (with so many variable based on use, location. and state) Join AMFP and Ralph Weber from Weber Alliance for an evening presentation focused on the IL Certificate of Need Program and how best to navigate the process.  His insights will help you understand the process, requirements, and timelines, and how to ensure your project is set up for success.

Presenter:

Ralph M. Weber is an independent consultant focused on advising health care facilities on regulatory approvals for construction, modernization and service establishment projects for hospitals, health care systems, and physician groups. All CON applications on which he has consulted have been approved by the State board!

Prior to his consulting work, he spent 25 years at Northwestern Memorial in various roles, including Vice President for Planning, Vice President for Campus Development, and Vice President for Community Relations. His past work includes several complex projects -- either large scale redevelopment or bed expansions, including the Feinberg/Galter Pavilion and Prentice Women's Hospital.

Ralph has also served on several CON committees of the Illinois Hospital Association, and as Chairman of the IHA's Task Force on CON in 2007-2009. From 2007 - 2009 he served as Chairman of the 750-member Magnificent Mile Association (formerly the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association), and as co-chairman of the Association’s 21st Century Planning Committee in 2011 that produced Vision 2025, the concept plan for the North Michigan Avenue district.
