Program Summary
Join AMFP for an engaging lunch and learn panel discussion at Power Design's St Pete HQ exploring Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital’s journey in advancing sustainability and resiliency in healthcare facility design. Our panel—featuring leaders from Johns Hopkins All Children’s, SSR, Robins & Morton, and HKS—will share firsthand experiences and insights from recent events, including the impact of a major hurricane and the resulting lessons learned. The conversation will highlight how resiliency strategies were integrated into the design and construction of the new Wesley Chapel project, with a focus on protecting critical healthcare operations, supporting community needs during emergencies, delivering long-term sustainability benefits, and navigating the cost and budget considerations that come with these goals.
Learning Objectives
- Describe how healthcare facilities can incorporate resiliency measures into planning, design, and construction to withstand natural disasters.
- Identify key lessons learned from Johns Hopkins All Children’s response to a hurricane and their application to future projects.
- Discuss the role of interdisciplinary collaboration between owners, designers, and contractors in achieving sustainable and resilient healthcare infrastructure.
- Evaluate practical design strategies that enhance both operational continuity and environmental stewardship in healthcare settings.
Lunch will be provided.
