Designing, constructing, and operating healthcare facilities is hard. Owner needs are complex, multiple stakeholders are involved at various milestones, and authoritative bodies add a layer of compliance to it all. Consequently, design documents are expected to be “airtight” and the transition from construction to operations is intended to be seamless. Design documents must be scrutinized with intention and proactive consideration must be given to the operations and maintenance data required post-occupancy. In this session, we will explore how to effectively assess the design, construction, and operation of healthcare facilities with these considerations in mind.
