Speaker Bios:

Steve Friedman is a senior level healthcare industry leader within Facilities Management for Design & Construction at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, bringing more than 35 years of engineering design, infrastructure, energy conservation and construction experience to the healthcare sector. His focus is on implementing proper healthcare design standards for sustainable and resilient construction delivery to ensure patient safety and comfort. Steve is responsible for Memorial Sloan Kettering’s engineering design initiatives as well as their overall infrastructure portfolio, overseeing a multimillion-dollar yearly capital program for its five million plus square feet of New York City hospital, research and clinical laboratories, as well as the New York/New Jersey regional healthcare real estate.

Steve is a licensed Professional Engineer, a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager, recognized by the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) for his expertise in healthcare planning, design & construction, operations, finance and facility code compliance, certified as Healthcare Facility Design Professional, recognized by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) for his mastery of the technical knowledge covering engineering design and operation of healthcare facilities and last but not least, certified LEED accredited design professional, recognized by the United States Green Building Council.

Nationally, with a continuous dedication to engineering & healthcare, Steve is an active member and chair of code interpretations for ASHRAE Standard 170 committee (Ventilation in Healthcare Facilities), a technical committee member of ASHRAE TC 9.6 (Healthcare Facilities Handbook), corresponding member of ASHRAE Standard 189.3 committee (Sustainable High-Performance Healthcare Facilities), executive committee member overseeing the publication of the 2021 FGI Guidelines for Design Guidance under Emergency Conditions as well as a member of the FGI Guidelines Healthcare Guidelines Revision Committee.

Rex Holloway is a partner and senior vice president with Hammes Healthcare. For more than 30 years, Rex has provided strategic consulting for leading healthcare systems nationwide. He has led ASC developments and was a managing director at the world’s largest real estate company where he led real estate, facility operations, development and capital project planning and management for ten hospitals. His health system leadership experience included industry-leading service line management and corporate leadership for planning, marketing and business development.

Rex holds a Master of Health Administration from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from The College of William and Mary. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), and is an active George Washington University Alumni leader.

Winnie Lee is the Assistant Director of Capital Planning and Design at White Plains Hospital, a member of the Montefiore Health System, and facilitates the functional and space programming and strategic facility master planning throughout this tertiary hub for advanced care in the Hudson Valley. She has extensive experience in multiple building types including hospitals, medical office buildings, and corporate workplaces. She has served in the capacity both as a consultant and as an internal owner’s representative to deliver on portfolio optimization, workplace strategies and process improvement initiatives. Winnie was previously a Director of Strategic Planning and Operations at Walgreens, a management consultant at Deloitte Consulting with a focus on corporate real estate, and an architect at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She received her M.B.A in finance from New York University Stern School of Business, and B. Arch. from Carnegie Mellon University.
