Chief Daryl Green
, the current Associate Vice President, and Chief of Police for the University of Alabama at Birmingham, brings nearly three decades of law enforcement experience. Formerly Chief of Staff for the Michigan State University Police and retired Chief of Police of the Lansing Police Department, Chief Green has led various divisions, including Investigations, Internal Affairs, Patrol, Emergency Management, and more. His tenure as Chief involved implementing technological advancements, effective crime-fighting initiatives, and a strong focus on community engagement and officer wellness. A graduate of Temple University and Michigan State University, Chief Green holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Western Michigan University. He is a distinguished graduate of the FBI National Academy and Senior Management Institute of Policing Police Executive Research Forum. A U.S. Navy veteran and current Navy Reserve Lieutenant Commander, Chief Green has deployed to the Middle East in support of Operations Inherent Resolve and Enduring Freedom.

Dr. Frankie Wallis is the Senior Director of Emergency Services at UAB Medicine, a nationally ranked academic medical center and one of Alabama's largest employers. In this role since June 2017, Dr. Wallace oversees various critical departments, including the University Emergency Department, Medical Emergency Response & Resuscitation Team, and Clinical Observational Unit. UAB Medicine is the 15th largest hospital in the US, with one of the busiest Emergency Departments nationally. Frankie leads a team that manages a 1,100+ patient bed facility, serves over 60,000 patients annually, and operates as a Level I Trauma Center. In addition to his role at UAB, he is an Associate Professor at Samford University's Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing and a Nurse Practitioner at Sylacauga Pediatrics/Summit Pediatrics. Dr. Wallace has a robust background in healthcare leadership, previously serving as House Director at Brookwood Baptist Health and Executive Director at Baptist South. His extensive law enforcement career includes Chief roles at the Childersburg Police Department and Talladega County Sheriff's Office. Dr. Wallace, a graduate of the FBI National Academy Associates, Inc. (FBINAA), brings a wealth of experience to his multifaceted career.

Linda Nubani is an Associate Professor and Director of Interior Design at Michigan State University (MSU). She is also the founder and coordinator of the Crime Prevention through Environmental Design Program at MSU. Nubani holds a PhD in Architecture (with a focus on Criminology) from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor (2006), and two Master’s degrees in Science of Architecture from the University of Michigan (2003) and the University of Cincinnati (2001). Her current research focuses on crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED). Nubani has been an international speaker on CPTED and has been working with various communities in the United States in conducting CPTED-based workshops to address combating crime through environmental design strategies. Beyond these community-focused initiatives, Nubani has applied expertise in conducting comprehensive CPTED assessments for various facility types. This includes enhancing security measures in healthcare facilities, houses of worship, schools, and universities, as well as federal buildings. Additionally, she is currently on the board of directors of the U.S. CPTED Association and served as the former chair of the board of directors of EDRA (Environmental Design Research Association).

Christian Colburn is a seasoned electronic security design professional with 22 years of experience. For half of his career, he excelled in security systems integration as a designer and sales professional. The other half was spent in the manufacturing sector, working with end-to-end electronic security platforms, including Avigilon and Pelco under Motorola Solutions. As the former Director, Government Solutions, Video Security, and Access Control at Motorola Solutions, Christian played a key role in supporting law enforcement professionals, focusing on technology consulting, best practices, security operation center planning, and securing funding through grant programs. In 2022, he returned to his first love—system design—now supporting the Architect and Consulting Engineer community. Christian is dedicated to showcasing Motorola's solutions and providing training on various aspects of the ecosystem. His expertise lies in the Division 8/28 marketplace, where he discusses and designs solutions with a passion for innovation.

Doug Spies is a licensed board-certified healthcare architect with a master’s in healthcare administration.  He has been dedicated to healthcare planning and design for the last 25 years, with ten of those years working on the owner’s side.  He translates clinical operations to facilities development strategies.  He is leading Advisory Services for Gresham Smith and is a founding board member of AMFP Nashville.  He is passionate about the programs and owner participation as the Director of Programming for AMFP Nashville.

David Stewart, a Principal in the Healthcare Studio of Orcutt Winslow and boasts more than two decades of experience collaborating with prominent healthcare systems worldwide. Leveraging his expertise, David has spearheaded the development of projects and master plans, showcasing his commitment to incorporating state-of-the-art design and construction techniques. He is renowned for fostering a culture of efficiency within his team, championing lean methodologies in project development and execution. David is the Treasurer and founding officer of AMFP Nashville, on the leadership committee for the AIA AAH Mid-TN, and a founding board member of LCI Nashville Community of Practice. 

Ted Hood is Managing Principal for TLC Engineering Solutions, a dynamic engineering firm with more than 60 years of experience. TLC ranks among the largest and most respected engineering firms in the nation. Ted has over 20 years of experience in Healthcare Technology project management and implementation, with an emphasis on interoperability between medical equipment, IT devices, EMR, security system solutions, and special building systems.  He has managed the Technology implementations on healthcare facilities ranging from small clinics to million square feet replacement hospitals. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee, serves on the AIA Middle Tennessee Academy of Architecture for Health committee, and is an active member of American Society of Healthcare Engineers as well as Health Information and Management Systems Society.

Karin Smith, originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, earned her Bachelor of Architecture degree from Auburn University in 1993 and began her career in Nashville soon after. She has been a registered Architect in the State of Tennessee since 2000, specializing in healthcare architecture. In 2001, Karin joined Vanderbilt University Medical Center as a Healthcare Planner where she is currently the Assistant Director of Planning in the Office of Planning Design & Construction. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Institute of Architects, Women in Healthcare, and AEC Power Women. Karin has held various positions on community and professional boards throughout her career, including President for AIA Middle Tennessee in 2021. Karin is married with two grown children and loves hiking and spending time with her family.
