The Essentia Vision Northland project is one of the most significant Medical Facilities constructed in the upper Midwest in the 21st century, and the largest private investment in the city of Duluth’s history. Come hear about how this vision came to reality, from identifying the need through the first patient date in Q3 2023.

Dan Cebelinski, a professional engineer and certified healthcare facility manager, is part of the leadership team for Vision Northland. He joined Essentia Health in 2017. Dan, who also earned a master’s in business administration, has over 20 years of experience in the construction and healthcare industry.  

EVAN ALJOE
Healthcare Planner
LHB Architects
Evan Aljoe, a graduate of North Dakota State University, joined LHB’s Healthcare studio in 1992. Since that time Evan has focused on clinical and critical care design. In 2004, Evan assumed leadership of the Healthcare studio and moved its base of operations from Duluth to Minneapolis where he expanded its service area from Duluth and the arrowhead region out to greater Minnesota and into Wisconsin. In 2022 Evan transitioned away from Studio Leadership but continues to provide guidance and support to the Healthcare team by contributing his understanding of healthcare organizations and facilities needs, assuring client goals are always achieved.

DAVE McLAUGHLIN
Project Executive
McGough Construction
Dave McLaughlin, a graduate of NDSU with degrees in Construction & Business Management, joined McGough in 2000 and has spent more than half his career in the healthcare sector constructing both large- and small-scale complex healthcare projects. Dave is currently a Project Executive for McGough’s Healthcare team and is a Certified Healthcare Constructor. He is the proud recipient of the T.O.P.S Honors award for Project Manager of the Year in 2015 by the Minnesota Subcontractors Association for his exceptional performance with his efforts in fostering Teamwork, Opportunity and Partnering with Subcontractors. Dave enjoys problem solving and is passionate about collaborating and guiding stakeholders to meet schedules and budgets centered around the owner experience.

JEFF DZURIK
Executive Vice President
Healthcare Construction Operations
McGough Construction 
Jeff Dzurik, a Certified Healthcare Constructor, joined McGough in 1998 and was introduced to Healthcare Construction almost immediately. During his 25+ year professional career, he has opportunity to be part of and lead teams in the pre-construction and construction phases of a variety of Healthcare projects in the upper Midwest. Jeff is passionate about Healthcare Construction, and is currently the EVP of Healthcare Construction Operations at McGough, working with teams to build the next generation Healthcare facilities to serve the communities we live in.
