Help Lead AMFP North Texas in 2027

The AMFP North Texas Nominating Committee is now accepting nominations for the 2027 Executive Board of Directors. Nominations will be accepted beginning at midnight tonight through Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

Open Executive Board Positions:

  • President-Elect
  • Vice President
  • Treasurer

Eligible candidates must be Healthcare Provider, Strategic Partner, Academic, Retired, or Distinguished Life members of the AMFP North Texas chapter in good standing.

The Executive Board meets virtually each month. Board members are expected to attend meetings regularly and actively support chapter initiatives and occasional special projects.

Following the close of nominations, the Nominations and Elections Committee will evaluate all nominees using criteria established by the Chapter Board of Directors. The committee
will recommend a slate of candidates that provides the strongest combination of qualifications and geographic representation. The recommended slate will then be presented to the Chapter Board of Directors, after which the Secretary will declare the slate elected in accordance with the chapter bylaws.

President-Elect

The President-Elect serves as the Chapter's second-ranking officer and assumes the duties of the President whenever the President is absent. The President-Elect also chairs the Nominations and Elections Committee, serves as Parliamentarian for the Chapter Board of Directors, and performs other duties assigned by the President or the Chapter Board.

If the President is unable to complete their term, the President-Elect succeeds to the office of President. If the President-Elect is unable to complete their term, the vacancy is filled by appointment of the President, subject to Board approval.

Term: January 1, 2027 – December 31, 2027. Upon successful completion of the term, the President-Elect assumes the office of Chapter President.

Vice President

Vice Presidents serve in an advisory capacity based on their status as Healthcare Providers. They provide guidance, feedback, and healthcare provider perspective on chapter activities, and serve as liaisons between committee chairs and the Executive Committee as needed.

Term: January 1, 2027 – December 31, 2027. Vice Presidents may seek
additional one-year terms.

Treasurer

The Treasurer oversees the efficient operation and financial integrity of the Chapter's treasury. Responsibilities include leading development of the annual budget, ensuring accurate financial reporting, chairing the Chapter Finance Committee, and performing other duties assigned by the President or the Board of Directors.

Term: January 1, 2027 – December 31, 2028. The Treasurer is eligible to seek one additional two-year term.
